Welwyn Garden City Cricket Club - Scott Walter's 10 for

SCOTT WALTER - 7.5-3-17-10

Our favourie Aussie produced the finest bowling figures ever seen in Hertfordshire League cricket on Saturday (20th June).

Scott is in his second season at Welwyn Garden City and plays for the Queensland University Club in Australia and has made 11 first class appearances for the State team.

The victims were Hemel Hempstead Town who succumbed to the left armer's devastating spell. 7 batsmen were clean bowled, 2 trapped LBW and 1 caught behind - Scott was on a hat trick twice.

Hemel were bowled out for 40 and in reply Jamie Hewitt and Owais Shah saw WGC to victory by 8 wickets.

The club's twitter feed was tracking the feat in real time:

As far as the club is aware, this is only the third occasion on which a bowler has taken all 10 wicket in an innings. Previous occasions were M. Stroud in 1926 and T.E. Biggs in 1954. In more recent times Zig Dolan, Chris Stainsby, Tony Tarry, Richard Mackay and Nick Walker have taken 9 wickets.

Reaction soon started flowing in on social media:
