Match report A profession and decisive victory by a well drilled and efficient WGC U14 side, their first over old rivals, Harpenden. Welwyn won the toss and bowled first on the artificial pitch at Welwyn Playing fields. Steady batting by Harpenden was countered not by many wickets at the start, but a very well drilled bowling and fielding performance, catches for Nick, Rob and Henry were of the highest quality. Whenever Harpenden started to pull away, Welwyn stemmed the flow with regular wickets, Harpenden finishing on 99-6,

Welwyn's batting reply stalled somewhat with the loss of both Connor and Jordan, but James anchored the innings with an well paced 50*, his first for the club, excellent support by Henry and big hitting from Kieran saw Welwyn over the line in relative comfort with 2.3 overs to spare. Well played to all the Welwyn boys.
