Match report A thoroughly professional performance and win for WGC U15 vs the very strong and always formidable Knebworth Park U15.

Knebworth were to bat first on what seemed a bit of a stodgy pitch. Progress was checked by the usual opening bowlers, Connor and Charlie who kept the batsmen honest, with an early wicket for Ben Clark, and just as acceleration was required, Sam Boylan stepped in with three quick wickets which once again stalled the run rate in WGC's favour, with Charlie popping up to take two more wickets. This was all backed up with excellent ground fielding from all players, leaving Knebworth short at 103-6 at innings close.

Early inroads into WGC's batting left Jordan and James together at the wicket, and at Jordan's suggestion that he 'tips it' and James give it the long handle, they firstly consolidated, then calmly put together a partnership of 76 with few problems. James going first to a good catch at mid on. 15 or so were still needed, so Rob, Charlie and Connor joined Jordan to see WGC to the total, Jordan seeing WGC over the line with a magnificent straight drive leaving him on 48*.

A marvellous victory over one of the very finest youth sides in Hertfordshire and the surrounding counties. Well done again to all the lads.
