The DPSA have asked us to canvas our members regarding the vaping policy at the club.
At the most recent DPSA General Management Committee meeting a GMC member asked that the Association’s “No Vaping” rule be reconsidered. The argument made was that e-cigarette use is often very discreet, the ban is therefore difficult to enforce and some members ignore it anyway, so the ban should be revoked.
The argument to retain the ban was also discussed, being that removal allows the potential for increased or more invasive vaping which could adversely affect the atmosphere in the club, and is hard to protect against without a clear rule.
For your information the current rule states: As of 1 July 2022, the use of electronic cigarettes / vaporisers will not be permitted within the club house. This change in policy aims to maintain a comfortable atmosphere for all members and guests.
If you wish to express an opinion please let a committee member know your thoughts. The next DPSA GMC meeting is at the end of October so your comments prior to this please.
