Andy Moscrop wins award at OSCAs

16 Sep 2011

Andrew Moscrop has won the "Young Volunteer" award at the 2011 Hertfordshire Outstanding Service to Cricket Awards.

Andy received his award from HCCA Treasurer, Roger Abraham, at a dinner at the Hatfield Oak Hotel.

The citation read:

"Andy has been a vital member of the Volunteer Team at Welwyn Garden City for the last 3 years. He is only 19 but makes himself available every Sunday to coach the U12 squad and then sets up their midweek matches and umpiring even for the furthest away games. (Andy doesn’t drive so perhaps his Mum should qualify for an award too).

In addition if I am short of an umpire or scorer for U9 or U10 matches a request for help to Andy is always met with a yes.

He is enthusiastic and the kids love him. He is an ECB Level 1 coach and is currently completing his Level 2.

Andy is a credit to his parents, his school and an asset that Welwyn Garden City Cricket Club could not do without."
