Welwyn Garden City Cricket Club Saturday 4th XI v Kings Langley III on Sat 18 Aug 2012 at 13h00
Match was Drawn

Match report A glorious summer’s day greeted the visit of Kings Langley 3rd XI to Old Welwyn.
Welwyn lost the toss and were set the task of fielding under a hot sun for 3 hours. This proved to be a hard test of stamina, however the bowlers stuck to their task with great conviction, Jay Patel produced a good opening spell for no reward ably assisted by Dilip Patel (2 wickets) and Sig Dolan also bowled a good spell picking up 3 wickets on a day when wickets were hard to come by. The opposition closed their innings on 206 for 5. This represented a good result on what was once again a very good batting wicket.
Welwyn got off to a very positive start in their pursuit of victory, however the loss of wickets at inopportune times, including the most incredible of run outs in a season which has included a few, meant that victory was always just a fraction too far away and despite an 18 run final over, 17 from the bat of Sig Dolan, we fell tantalisingly short of our victory target ending on 205 for 7.
It was however another fine team performance.
