Match report A fine game of cricket that was in the balance until the last over.
Welwyn Garden City won the toss and put Old Albanian into bat. Lipschitz (39) and McGregor (37) were the mainstays and Thrale (19) and Perrin (14) hit the ball well to compile a good total of 137-5. Brunel, Weeks, Peterkin and Wilde all took a wicket each.
In reply, Weeks with 43 was ably supported by Brunel (26) and Tunnicliffe (27). With 18 required off 3 overs, the match seemed to be in WGC's grasp. But with some good death bowling by McGregor and Deacon brought OAs home by 4 runs. Perrin took two wickets and Deacon, Pickworth and McGregor all took one.
