Match report An excellent result against a Letchworth side with a sprinkling of County, ex-County and Area players. WGC bowled first and a good tight opening spell by Connor Tunnicliffe (3-1-2-1)and Charlie Moore (4-0-17-0) restricted Letchworth to 13-1 off 6 overs. The wicket came courtesy of a fantastic one-handed, diving catch at Mid off by James Davis.
Harry Peterkin (1-8) and Jordan Brunel (0-14) continued the good work in the middle overs meaning that Letchworth could not accelerate the scoring sufficiently to post a competitive total. On a good wicket, 97-3 was never going to be enough.
WGC went about the run chase carefully, losing Luke Wilde early on, but seeing off the dangerous opening bowlers while picking up boundaries from anying loose. Taylor scored a typically classy 40 before falling, surprisingly to a return catch to the spinner. Harry played his best innings in a long time. Playing himself in early and then upping the tempo with some sumptuous straight hitting.
The target was reached off the first ball of the 17th over.
